There is a small hill near from my place, which is enclosed by a long promenade in the circle form. The promenade has eighteen old banks along the path, where each of the banks is installed at almost even interval, facing radially outward of the circle. I have often seen people running/walking on the road for jogging and/or taking a walk with dogs. It is indeed a good place to do so. However I have never seen people sitting on the banks. This fact soon got me fascinated with these unused banks rather than the promenade itself.
This work is a part of a longterm project fully concerning my interest:
- What do the banks look like in different seasons?
- What could be seen from the banks in different seasons?
- What does one think when seeing the view from the banks in different seasons?
For the companion collection of the view seen from the banks, see View Series.
